Since we as people are movement dependent, it does not matter if you are a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, a corporate executive or a stay at home mom – you can benefit from treatment at the Performance Therapy Center.
All activities of your daily life operate upon multi-joint, multi-directional movement utilizing force and gravity. These everyday athletic movements are the same for everyone, the only difference being frequency, volume and intensity.
Common Issues We Treat Include:
Ten years ago, when I began at Performance Therapy, I was a former Division I college tennis player with residual injuries causing neck, shoulder and foot problems. Fast forward to now, and you have an entirely different person. I am migraine-free. I am injury-free. In 2011 alone, I completed three marathons, a 50-miler, two 100-milers, a 100k, five Ironman events (three in three consecutive weeks), three 70.3s, and an Ultraman (6.2-mile swim, 262-mile bike, 52.4-mile run) plus qualified for the Ironman World Championships in Kona—all on a foot with a screw in it. Honestly, I owe all of it to Performance Therapy. It is nothing short of incredible that I have been able to undertake this sort of schedule with no glitches, no injuries whatsoever. Fred Ossmann has kept me strong and flexible (for me!), and Mike puts “Humpty Dumpty” back together again after all of the training and racing. Office Manager Katie has a full-time job keeping up with my crazy schedule and following up with my travel to races. They are part of my family.
I feel so strongly about Mike’s ability as a true healer that if he were to move, I would consider going with him! In fact, I took him to the UK for Ultraman as an indispensable part of my crew. Weekly, he pinpoints what might be wrong before I even know it is hurting. Fred knows my body so well that I do not even have to speak when I am in a taper pre-race. He can take one look at me and tell exactly what I need and is the best trainer I’ve ever worked with for high performance strength. My lack of injury speaks for itself.
There are not many absolutes in life. For me, this is one of them. Performance Therapy is absolutely the best place for total-athlete care.
